IEC104 Rules
IEC 104 (IEC 60870-5-104) is a communication protocol used in industrial automation and power systems for remote control, monitoring, and data acquisition. It is based on TCP/IP for transmission.
IEC104 Rules refers to configuring the rule for Elastel gateway collect data from southbound devices like power meter which support IEC104 protocol (IEC 60870-5-104 Protocol).
Go to Data Collect >> South Devices>> IEC104 Rules to view and configure IEC104 Rules list.
- View the Real-time current value that responded from IEC104 device during communication
- Edit the added rule
- Delete the added rule
- Add a new rule
- Export and import the rules configuration in csv template file. This is useful for rules configuration backup and batch operation
Add a IEC104 rule
Click “Add” button to add a new IEC104 rule
- Set the IEC104 rules order
- Specify the slave device name
- Configure the belonged interface that the rule applied.
at Interface>> TCP Server setting should select “IEC104” protocol first to configure a IEC104 communication rule

Configure the Tag Name of data returned from slave device.

Configure the type ID of IEC104 data.

Configure the Start IOA address

Configure the common address

Specify the reporting center that the collected data be reported to. The number is associated to North App>>Reporting Server <1~5>

Configure the operator and operand

Configure the accuracy of calculated value

Enable/disable SMS&Email Reporting. It will send report to specified phone number and Email address when value changed or value out of certain range.
