BACnet Rules
BACnet (Building Automation and Control Networks) is a communication protocol designed for building automation and control systems. It supports various communication media (e.g., IP, RS-485) between devices interoperability.
BACnet Rules refers to configuring the rule for Elastel gateway as BACnet client to communicate data with southbound devices by BACnet protocol, including BACnet MSTP and BACnet IP protocols.
Go to Data Collect >> South Devices>> BACnet Rules to view and configure BACnet Rules.
For BACnet/IP
- Enable/Disable the BACnet Rule feature
- Select the BACnet/IP or BACnet/MSTP protocol, in this section we use BACnet/IP
- Select the IP based communication interface to reach southbound devices, options:
- br0 for LAN connection
- eth0 for WAN connection
- wlan0 for WiFi client connection
- wwan0 for cellular network connection
Note
the BACnet using UDP broadcast to reach southbound device.
- Configure the southbound device port
- Configure the Elastel gateway as BACnet client device ID
- Select the collect mode, options:
- Poll, the Elastel gateway periodically collect data from south device
- Cov, subscription method to collect data from south device
For BACnet/MSTP
- Enable/Disable the BACnet Rule feature
- Select the BACnet/IP or BACnet/MSTP protocol, in this section we use BACnet/MSTP
- Select the serial communication interface to reach southbound devices
- Configure the baud rate of COM port
- Configure the source address
- Configure the Max Master value
- Configure the Frames value
- Set the Elastel gateway as BACnet client device ID
- Select the collect mode, options:
- Poll, the Elastel gateway periodically collect data from south device
- Cov, subscription method to collect data from south device
Configure the collection object
The BACnet rules list for object collection
- Preview the current value that collected from southbound device under this rule communication
- Edit the added rule
- Delete the added rule
- Add a new rule
- Export and import the rules configuration in csv template file. This is useful for rules configuration backup and batch operation
Add a BACnet rule
Click “Add” button to add a new BACnet collection rule
- Set the rule order
- Specify the southbound device name
- Configure the Tag Name of data collected from southbound device.
- Configure the Object Device ID manually, you can also click the button to scan BACnet south device ID automatically.
- Configure the Object Identifier.
- Specify the reporting center that the collected data be reported to. The number is associated to North App>>Reporting Server <1~5>
- Configure the operator and operand to calculate the collected data
- Configure the accuracy of calculated value, the number of decimal places
- Enable/disable the rule be applied
